Cohesion

The interests of individuals within the company are subordinated to the common interest. Experiences are shared and every success is a collective victory.

During our daily activity, we often feel the necessity to exchange experience, learn from one another and, if required, give and ask for help. Cooperation, exchanging experience and providing help is a day-to-day thing for the staff working in the individual fields.

In the recent past, Budapest Sewage Works have regularly participated in the flood protection work outside of the capital city. In 1997, they provided assistance during floods in Poland (Wroczlav). A year later, they provided help to Romania with a significant number of staff and equipment to prevent the imminent flood catastrophy. In June 1999, the company took part in reducing the damage caused by the reservoir catastrophy in the Ipoly basin. In 2000, during the Tisza flood, several thousand sandbags and a significant amount of technical equipment were provided. In 2005, the regions affected by flash floods in Mátrakeresztes and Eger were supported.

Cohesion is also experienced within the Veolia Víz group. A prime example of this is the Danube flood in 2002, when the staff of Szeged Waterworks helped the flood prevention work. Thirty waterworks employees travelled up to Budapest to assist Budapest Sewage Works in strengthening the river embankments with sandbags.
