  • The South Budapest Plant generates electricity from sewage sludge, and the energy gained in this way almost completely covers the total energy demand of the plant;
  • A new waste collection and processing plant was established at the South Budapest Plant providing a solution to the problem of the large amounts of kitchen and other waste with a high organic material content being deposited into the sewage system;
  • Since 1997, the number of reconstructed sewers has quadrupled;
  • Both the Central Dispatching Service and the remote control system of the sewage pump stations have been renewed;

Salgótarján Sewage Works
